On Saturday morning, July 6, you will have to opportunity play in the SCGA better ball of partners qualifying tournament. The Men’s Club will also have a separate competition on that day (also better ball of partners), so you can participate in both events simultaneously. BUT---if you choose to play in the SCGA event there will be some restrictions:
Regular USGA indexes will be used (rather than your Men’s Club Index)
There will be a maximum index spread between team members of 5.
If
spread is greater than 5 the weaker player will have his index adjusted
down to within 5 of the stronger player’s index.
The weaker team member can have an index of no more than 18.4.
If the
weaker player’s index is more than 18.4 it will be adjusted to 18.4 for
this
event.
The
winning team will advance to the 23d SCGA Regional Fourball Tournament to be
held on August 13. From there top
teams will advance to the SCGA finals on September 17th and 18th.
There
is no extra cost to enter the SCGA event. If
you enter, however, you will have to advise
the pro shop when you check in and keep a separate scorecard for this event in
addition to a scorecard for the Men’s Club game.
